END OF LEVEL SAGE TESTING

We will begin end of level SAGE testing on April 18th, and testing will continue through May 20th. Elementary students will be taking it throughout those times. Please look for more information from your teacher about when your students will be tested. Junior High students will be tested in their English, Math, History and Science classes. They will be taking the Science Assessment April 26-29; Writing May 2-5; Language Arts May 6-11; and Math May 12-17. Please make sure your students get adequate rest and a good breakfast each day in preparation for taking their tests.

SNACKS FOR SAGE AND VOLUNTEER HOURS

more

Research has shown that students do better when they are full.  In addition to encouraging parents to ensure students have a quality breakfast; Lincoln would like to provide each student with a snack while they are taking the SAGE assessment.

We are asking parents to donate snacks for this effort. We would like somewhat healthy snacks where the crumbs won’t get stuck in the keyboards students are using.

Thank you to all who have donated snacks for students taking the SAGE.  So far we have received about 1000 individual snacks.  The school will need close to 4000 snacks, allowing each student to have a snack as their session begins.

All snacks need to be peanut free and commercially created and purchased to ensure student safety.  For every $10 worth of snacks donated, parents can claim 1 volunteer hour.

Ideas for snacks are:

Granola Bars (Peanut Free)
Dried Fruit
Fruit Snacks
Rice Krispy Treats

THANK YOU

Thank you for your help and support. Let's finish the year strong. There are still many days left, and lots of progress can be made with continued focus on reading and math support. We will continue to push students here at school to improve, and with your help, we can make a difference.

PARENT COUNCIL NEWS

Dear Lincoln Families,

First, I want to say “THANK YOU” to Jennifer Parry and her committee who helped make Teacher Appreciation Week a HUGE success! We are so grateful for the money and gifts that were donated, all the food that was prepared for the teacher luncheon, and the extra help that was given throughout the week. It was a fantastic week, and the teachers felt very appreciated!

As the school year is coming to a close, I would like to invite everyone who hasn't has a chance to donate to our mobile technology fundraiser, to please do so, if possible for your family. For those new to Lincoln, the Parent Council would like to be able to purchase more chrome books for the school. We have asked for a simple $35 donation per family. We do this each year instead of having your students sell items to family and friends. We are not quite at our goal of $7500, so we would appreciate anything anyone can give. Donations are taken at the finance office. Please be sure to indicate it's for the PC mobile technology fundraiser.

Also, if you would like to volunteer on the Parent Council next year, please email next year’s Parent Council President, Sherilyn Gustafson, at sheri@gusgirl.com.

"Giving is not about making a donation, it's about making a difference."

-Kathy Calvin, President of United Nations Foundation

Thanks All!
