FROM MR. HUNT

Dear Parents:

This week is re-enrollment. As a part of this process, you will be asked to fill out a survey about the school. We recognize this takes some time to complete. Thank you in advance for taking the time to thoughtfully respond and let us know what we are doing well and how we can better serve your students. The feedback we receive is invaluable.

Parent-Teacher Conferences

more

Please put February 11th and 12th on your calendar for Parent-Teacher Conferences. We will hold these meetings from 3:00-8:00 on Wednesday for elementary and junior high and 3:00-6:00 on Thursday for just the elementary. Elementary parents, please sign up for a time slot on the sign-up sheets which will be available starting February 2nd at the front desk. Junior high parents, please plan on a five-minute conference or less. If your concerns are going to take longer than five minutes, please make an appointment to meet with the teacher at a different time.

Book Fair
Our book fair will be held during Parent-Teacher Conferences.

GET VOLUNTEER HOURS FOR PROMOTING LINCOLN

I sent an email on Friday, January 9th letting parents know they can get volunteer hours by posting messages about Lincoln and open enrollment on social media sites or by emailing friends. Parents get 1 hour for each site and 1 hour for every 5 friends they email with children eligible to attend Lincoln.

You could edit the following or post something similar:

“My children attend Lincoln Academy. Lincoln Academy has certified teachers, a rigorous curriculum, positive environment, smaller classes, and prepares students well for high school.

We have had a great experience having our children attend Lincoln. Other parents have shared their opinions and experiences in a short video clip located at:

http://youtu.be/uZeEFU2nZUA

If you would like to find out more about Lincoln, you can tour the school on Wednesdays at 10:00 or Thursdays at 4:00. Additionally, you can attend an open house on Thursday, January 29th from 6:30-8:00.”

Thank you for your continued support of Lincoln Academy.

PARENT COUNCIL UPDATE

Dear Parents,

I hope you had a wonderful holiday season! January and February will be busy months, so I just wanted to keep you updated on all that's happening. Our next Box Tops and Labels for Education Competition has begun so be sure to save them and send them in with your students. The Inspirations contest has also started so we hope you'll encourage your children to participate. The last thing we have is Jazz Reading, starting this Friday. We hope to read enough minutes, so we can have a Jazz player come read to the students again. Please encourage your children to be reading!

We would like to thank those who have donated their $35 to our fundraiser. We will be sending home a letter with an envelope again soon, so if you haven't donated and would still like to, you can still send it in to the school.  We have already used some of the money to update the elementary computer lab and hope to be able to get a bigger marquee for the school.

Thank you for all those who are working hard to make our school a better place! We definitely notice your efforts and are grateful for all you're doing!
