FROM MR. HUNT

Dear Parents:

It is now October. It is amazing how time flies. Thank you for all that you have done to support the school and your students. Thanks for donating supplies to our classes, supplies for your children, donating to the parent council, driving on field trips, coming to parent/teacher conference, and signing up to help in the classroom. Your efforts help make our school better and afford a better education for your student. Thank you for everything! I am confident that as educators, parents and students work together, the quality of education increases.

Parent/Teacher Conferences

Thank you to all parents who came to parent/teacher conferences. There was a great turn-out in the elementary and a solid one for the Junior High. If you missed parent/teacher conferences, you can still set up an appointment to meet with your student's teacher or communicate by email.

Halloween

I know that many are deciding Halloween costumes already. Students are allowed to wear their costumes to school at Lincoln Academy.  However, there are no masks allowed.  Additionally there are no weapons, cross-dressing or "blood" of any kind.  The costumes must also be modest and not offend any group of people.  Staff members need to be able to identify students in costume.

The Elementary holds a Halloween parade at 1:45 on Halloween.  Parents are invited to view the parade in the elementary gym.

PARENT COUNCIL NEWS

We would like to thank those who have supported the Parent Council fund raiser this year! We have been able to raise over $3,000 so far! We really appreciate the generosity of those who have donated. If you haven't had a chance to donate and would be willing to help, please give your money in an envelope marked "Parent Council" to the front office. The suggested donation is $35. If you are able to donate more, we welcome your generosity. If you cannot give that much at this time, we would appreciate any help you can give.

Thank you also to those who have helped with the Parent Council programs. We really appreciate all the effort you're putting in to making Lincoln a better school. Thank you to those who helped make our movie night a huge success, all room moms, Junior Achievement volunteers, our Teacher Appreciation committee, and all PC committee members. We are so grateful for all your hard work!

As of October 1, 2014 we have collected 3,600 box tops! WOW!

Please remember to send in your carefully cut out (non-expired) box tops. Your student can drop off box tops in the office or with their teacher. We have a bag in each classroom and a box in the office.

We have a goal of 10,000 box tops to reach by 10/14/14. If we meet our goal each student will earn a free dress day and a coupon from Chick-fil-A.

SUNNY D LABELS CAN HELP YOUR STUDENTS READ!!!

Dear Lincoln Parents,

We have a great opportunity to put at least 20 books into the hands of your students in every classroom from Kindergarten to Sixth Grade.  We are collecting the UPC labels from any of the Sunny Delight Bottles. We can earn one free book for each UPC code turned in to your student’s teacher.

This opportunity continues until November 30, 2014, so please help us in our efforts of bringing leveled Scholastic books to the classroom.
