Academic Testing
CRTs are scheduled to begin April 23rd and will go through most of the first part of May. This is a required set of tests that measures student academic comprehension and understanding. CRTs are attached to federal and state funds for our school. They also report how well students are doing relative to a pre-determined performance level on a specified set of educational goals or outcomes included in the school, district, or state curriculum.

This year we will be assessing all students using computers.  Your teachers can let you know when your student testing will be.

Please do the following items to help your student succeed:
1) Make sure they are at school when they are scheduled to be tested. All students are required by law to take the CRTs--there are few exceptions. Therefore, all students must be in attendance at the time of the CRTs or schedule a make up time during a very limited window of opportunity.

2) Please take the opportunity as parents to discuss with your students the essentials of doing their very best and not rushing through the questions. It is important for them to attempt to honestly do their best in answering the questions. Carelessness or indifference only hurts the school along with the student’s academic achievement.
4) Please review good test taking strategies with your students. Our teachers will do the same here at the school.
5) Make sure your students get a good night’s rest and have a good breakfast every morning before testing.

Emergency Student Carpool Procedure
We will be practicing our procedure for reuniting students with their carpools in an emergency situation on Friday April 27th.  There will be more information coming shortly on this.  Please look for this information

SPRING RUN OFF

We hope everyone is getting ready for our annual spring fun run.  Our race will be held on Saturday, May 5 at 8 a.m.  For those of you who are ready to increase the challenge we will have a 10K course as well as our traditional 5K and 1 mile courses.  This is a very fun event that we sponsor as a culmination of our school Health Week.  This year's proceeds will go toward getting uniforms for our soccer and volleyball teams. We hope everyone will take this challenge and celebrate being more active with our families and friends this spring.
