WORD FROM MR. HUNT

It was great seeing so many of you come in for re-enrollment.  Thank you for this effort.  We know that it takes a little time to do the survey and re-enroll.  However, the feedback we get from your participation is invaluable.  We will be addressing some of the concerns you brought up as well as providing you with some of the results.  One that is easy to report is that we are happy that 97% of responders agreed that overall they are satisfied with Lincoln Academy.  Some informational items I'd like you to consider follow.

more

Parent BYOD Night- January 12th
As a reminder we are having a meeting for Jr. High parents or any parents interested in how to best secure your student's mobile devices and prevent undesirable Internet content on these devices.   This will be a workshop style meeting to better empower parents with tools to help your students stay safer while using the Internet.  This workshop will be focusing specifically on the mobile devices we are trying to use in our Bring Your Own Device program here at Lincoln Academy.

End of Term- January 13th
The term is ending soon.  Make sure that your students work is completed and turned in before that.  There has been a little glitch with the latest SIS update.  When 0's are entered SIS is not counting that as a missing assignment.  The state has promised to fix this in the next update, for now if you will make sure and click on the class to check that out.

Junior High Night- January 18th
We will be having an open house for all students who will be 7th, 8th or 9th graders next year.  We will be sharing a little more about our junior high program and the classes we offer.  It will start at 6:30 and last about an hour.  Students who currently attend Lincoln and are going into 7th grade can earn a free dress day by attending this night.  Additionally, any potential new student who is referred by a current family can earn a free dress day for the entire family.  So if you know any junior high aged students in your neighborhood who may be interested in attending Lincoln please let them know and have them list your family as a reference so you can earn a free dress day.

Emergency Prep and the Car Sticker-
We had lots of questions about the sticker we are asking parents to put in their car windshield.  This is the first step of our plan to become a little more organized for an emergency. In a situation where we need to reunite students and parents in a safe and secure manner we are creating a data base that will associate students with drivers who are allowed to pick up students at the school.  This provides a way for the school to quickly identify a person who is authorized by families to pick up students.  We will be practicing this in late April and more details will be coming forward before then to help you prepare for this event.

Thank you,

Mr. Hunt

JAZZ READING CONTEST
